It’s “Team Member Thursday”, and this week we are introducing Daryn Grant who recently joined LMP. We caught up with Daryn to learn a little about his journey in the green industry:
How long have you been in the green industry? I began in 2010, where I got my start by working on a crew out in the field. Over the past ten years I have had the opportunity to learn more about the business as a whole and progressively achieve greater responsibility including my joining LMP as an Account Manager for its growing Sarasota division.
What do you like about the green industry? I cannot think of anything there is not to like. Other than working outside, working with plants, and working with clients I would have to say what I like most is seeing the finished product when a job is completed. A beautifully manicured landscape is incredible to look at, and there is satisfaction in knowing my hands were involved.
What designations or certifications have you obtained? I completed my Best Management Practices (BMP) and Aquatics and Pesticide certifications. From there, I will begin working on obtaining the licensing and certifications related to Arbor and those offered by FNGLA including horticulture.
What interesting hobbies do you have? I love to fish; especially spearfishing. I enjoy boating, skydiving, running, and working out in the gym.
What is your mantra or catch phrase? Why? “Embrace the suck”! We all are required to do things we do not enjoy, but, more often than not; those things need to be done. It is why I enjoy working in the green industry – we work outside in all types of weather conditions to get things done so the customers can enjoy amazingly lush, healthy landscaping.
